You’re Paying Someone for a Reason

Too many times when I’m working, whether it be design or coding, I get interrupted by the same people who are paying me to do the work because they don’t let me do the work they want me to do.  They keep calling, sending emails and asking, “what happened to this” and “where is that” when all they need to do is sit back and wait and let me do my work.

I usually will send an email that contains, “I will send you an update when I have one”, but sometimes this gets disregarded.  While I am working I will get a call saying “you forgot to put in the phone number” for example.  No, I didn’t forget, I just hadn’t gotten there yet.  Each developer has a certain way of going about things.  The most effective thing you can do is to let him work.

Now I don’t mind if someone is watching me do my magic, clicking refresh and seeing the site being built in front of their eyes, but please don’t interrupt me.  Wait until the update email.
